Garlic salt with chili
I just love making vegetable salts with my homegrown vegetables. It's festive, simple and tastes great. This salt is seasoned with my homegrown garlic and chili. Try it!
Ingredients
- around 2 cups (4 dl) peeled garlic cloves
- 1-2 small, ripe jalapenos or some other mild chili.
- 1.7 ounces of fine salt.
All vegetables (all food for that matter) tastes better with some really good salt. We often make many different kinds of vegetable salts here at home. It's a great way to use the vegetables from the garden and makes the salt a lot healthier too. Garlic and chili is a great combination for your vegetable salt.
Instructions:
Mix all the ingredients until smooth. Add some water if the mix is too chunky.
Spread it out on a baking sheet and let it dry in a drying machine or in the oven. The oven shouldn't be warmer than 120 degrees (50 degrees Celsius) and you should leave the oven door slightly open to air out the moisture.
The salt will become a hard cake when dry, mix it again until it becomes a fine powder.
Try eating the garlic salt with stir-fried tomatoes or fish. Yum!
