Fava bean mash
Fava beans are just the best. I use them for so many different things in my kitchen. This fava bean mash is absolutely delicious!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup (around 5 dl) frozen or fresh fava beans
- 2 garlic cloves
- 1/4 - 1/2 cups (around 1/2-1 dl) olive oil
- salt
Fava beans are one of the staples in my garden and I use them so often in my kitchen. I freeze most of them after harvest though, so that I can use them in winter too. This is a simple but delicious fava bean mash that tastes great in for example wraps or with tacos. Yum!
Instructions:
Get the beans from their pods, but there's no need to remove the individual shells. Boil the beans quickly in lightly salted water and rinse in cold water. The beans should still be a little al dente. If you use frozen beans, simply thaw before using them.
Blend or mash the beans together with oil, garlic and salt.
If you want to make a bean dressing instead of a fava bean mash, you can just add some more olive oil. Try eating it with pasta, it's delicious!
