Sara's redcurrant lemonade
Lemonade is a must in summer. This luxurious redcurrant lemonade with refreshing lemon is the perfect drink on a hot day.
Ingredients
- 1 lbs 10 oz redcurrants
- 7 cups (around 1.5 liters) water
- 1 1/4 cups (around3 dl) raw sugar
- 1 1/4 cups (around3 dl) lemon juice, freshly pressed or store-bought
- fruit soda
I have a dream of not only growing my own vegetables but also having plenty of fruit and berries in my garden. I'm getting there! We have quite a lot of currants now, that I propagated with cuttings. This is one of my favorite lemonade recipes that both children and grownups love, redcurrant lemonade.
Instructions:
Remove the stalks and cut the redcurrants into smaller pieces.
Put the berries in a pot with water and sugar.
Bring to a boil and let it simmer for 10 minutes.
Pour through a sieve.
Let it cool down.
Add the lemon juice and then pour the lemonade in glass bottles.
Mix 1/3 lemonade with 2/3 fruit soda when it's time to drink your lemonade.
Serve with plenty of ice. Enjoy!
