Delicious braised leek with garlic
Leek is one of my favorite alliums in the garden. You can use it for so many dishes! This braised leek with garlic is as simple to make as it is delicious. Try it!
Ingredients
- leek
- vegetable stock
- garlic
- butter
- salt
- pepper
This delicious braised leek is the perfect side for all kinds of dishes. You can make this recipe with leek that has started to show signs of bolting too.
Instructions:
Clean the leek, remove the root and the tops of the leek leaves.
Make a lengthwise cut, without splitting the leek in half.
Clean the leek, make sure to remove all the dirt.
Cut the leek into smaller pieces, around 4 inches (10 centimeters) long.
Pan-fry the leek in butter until it gets a little color.
Add chopped garlic in the end.
Pour a splash of vegetable stock on top and simmer until the leek is soft.
Add more stock if needed.
Season with salt and pepper.
Serve the braised leek as a side dish with dinner or lunch, or make it for a vegetarian buffet.
